Geoff Skrone
BSc (Hons), B Ost

I trained at the British
School of Osteopathy in London for 5 years and worked in general
practice osteopathy since then for many years.
I am a Registered Osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council and a
member of the British Osteopathic Association. I attend numerous seminars, conferences and
workshops each year to maintain and advance my knowledge base.
I enjoy working with the diversity of conditions that patients present with
in general clinic but I particularly enjoy the challenge of chronic conditions
like low back pain, headaches and shoulder pain.
Through my personal interest in sport and having worked with sports
injuries in the UK and New Zealand, I have acquired skill and
experience in treating sport related injuries whether through trauma or
repetitive strains. In particular I have worked closely with
running clubs and racket based sports.
There are many styles of osteopathy and a patient's experience will
differ widely depending on who they see. I pride myself on my
reputation on being an osteopath who listens attentively and tailors the
treatment to each individual. Most treatments comprise largely of
soft tissue techniques massaging, stretching and articulating with small
amounts of gentle manipulation (when a click is heard), if appropriate
and when desired by the patient.
As well as helping you to better health it is always my goal to keep
you away from my door by providing advice and exercises on how to avoid
a recurrence.
I also use
Photomedicine, which is treatment using a cold laser. In most
conditions this is an adjunct to normal osteopathic treatment but some conditions
seemingly respond particularly well to
laser treatment.
I was originally an IT professional but chose to retrain as an osteopath
so that I could help people more directly. Now I am frequently rewarded
as the patient leaves the treatment room feeling better and with a
smile.
In my leisure time I enjoy most sports and walking but have a passion
for windsurfing and badminton.
